Colt 1851 Navy Fourth Model 16-22
This is a very attractive Colt 1851 Navy Fourth Model serial number 38192. Marked with “U.S.” stamped on frame next to patent date indicates military issue and use. The action on this pistol works properly and locks up tight. All number match, including the wedge and the rammer. The grips look great and have a lot of varnish. The numbers and the letters are clear and easy to read. Little cylinder scene but patent date & serial number are very clear, and a little corrosion on cylinder & barrel. The bore has 40%-50% of the rifling and little corrosion; this is a clean, attractive original pistol for the collector or shooter (it should be checked by a gunsmith before shooting).
