Description:
Well engraved receiver. Checkering re-cut on stock, Prince of Wales grip, very nice wood. 13-1/4” LOP to a Kick-Ezz recoil pad. Bores bright, locks up tight without forearm installed. Top leaver to right of center. Blueing worn, no case colors noted. Barrels are marked “Siemens Martin Steel”. Receiver marked “ A. Francotte Makers & Patentee Liege Belgium”. Barrels marked “Von Bengerke & Detmold U.S. Agents, New York”. Gun weight 7#1oz. Choked Mod and improved modified or a little less than full.
I purchased this gun from Cabela’s on the east coast in 2009 and it was presented as a “between the wars 10 gauge”. Other than that I know little about the gun’s history. I used low pressure 2-7/8” loads from RST or my own handloads and shot many geese and pheasants with the gun. The single trigger worked flawlessly but I have the double trigger parts that were remaining after the single trigger installation. It patterns well with #2 Bismuth or #5 lead shot.
