Phillips of Phillips Petroleum Co. was a very serious gun collector, especially Colt handguns. Many of these classic Colt's today are in the Woolaroc Museum collection in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It remains today as one of the world's finest collections of Colt firearms. The Woolaroc collection is very significant in that it includes several of the very first revolving cylinder repeating handguns made in the United States and traces the development of Colt firearms into the post World War II era.
