It is hard to believe that it has been 13 years since these rifles were discontinued. They are considered by most lever action aficionados to have been among the best .22 caliber lever action rifles ever made. They have a forged steel receivers that are grooved for tip off mounts and a nicely checkered American Walnut stocks, and are well known for their accuracy and reliability. This .22 Magnum model is in near-new condition. The only marks we can find on the rifle are some very minor marring in the tip-off scope mount groove where a scope was previously mounted. This is only visible under very close examination and does not detract from the overall excellent appearance of this Winchester. The bore in this rifle is minty and bright, with no signs of pitting or erosion of the rifling. It is quite possible given the condition of this rifle both externally and internally that it has never been fired since leaving the factory. If you have been looking for an exceptional .22 Magnum Winchester Model 9422 to use or put up as an investment, this is it!
