Single Shot Tip-Up Pocket Pistol in .22 Rimfire
Here we present an antique J. Steven’s & Co. “Old Model” Pocket Pistol, made circa the 1870s in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. The design was intended to be used as a very simple, easily conceal pocket carry pistol with just enough firepower to get away from danger. The barrel tips up with the push of a button for loading and unloading. This was the gun that started the Stevens line of pistols. All of the tip-up pistols that would be produced by the company would be based off of this little pistol.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces are smooth with a nice patina. The markings are clear and legible. The grips show use, but are in good shape. The bore is rough. The action is functional. The ejector is absent.
