Antique ALLEN & WHEELOCK .32 Single Shot Pistol
Civil War Era Deringer Pocket Pistol
Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock .32 Single Shot Pistol, made circa 1860 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Under 1,000 of these pistols are thought to have been produced. This was designed to be a very simple and tiny conceal and carry, self-defense pistol in the turbulent 19th Century. It features a swivel barrel with an automatic ejector.
The metal surfaces are heavily patinaed with age. The markings are partially legible. The wood grips have seen much use. The bore is somewhat rough. The action is mobile, but the trigger return spring is not functional. The barrel retention is no longer functional.
