SCARCE Antique Winchester 1885 LOW WALL in .25 WCF
Single Set Trigger & Great Condition
Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, chambered in .25 WCF, made in 1892 in New Haven, Connecticut. John Moses Browning, the famed gun designer who forever changed the firearms landscape, began his career with the Model 1885 rifle in the 19th Century before dominating the world scene in the 20th Century.
This rifle was designed for varmint hunting and target shooting, and features a #2 weight, 28-inch octagonal barrel. It is also equipped with a very crisp single set trigger for ultimate precision. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO/NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.” and “25 WCF”. The underside of the barrel is marked “2”, representing the barrel weight.
The overall condition is fine. The barrel retains 60% of the original blue finish. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock is in very good condition. The bore is strong, with good rifling. The action is excellent. Here is a great rifle in a scarce caliber!
