Description:
An ideal little brush rifle! Built on an intermediate length commercial Oberndorf Mauser 98 action, chambered for 358 Winchester cartridge. As we are told by his former business partner, Harry Creighton was a retired tool and die maker who set up as a gunmaker and gunsmith in Nashville, and passed away in the late 1980's.
Action has stippled bridges and british proofs, but the balance of the rifle is all American styling. Stock is made of a gorgeous, figured piece of walnut, has 5-point checkering patterrn, horn buttplate, and was really built professionally. 24" barrel has a pristine bore and chamber. Action and barrel are professionally glass bedded, for a rock-solid assembly. A great looking custom rifle, and in a cool caliber. Weighs 8 pounds, 4 ounces, so it won't knock you around too much...I'd considered adding a decelerator pad, to take this from a great package to an awesome one! Rear sight is a Lyman 48, and a "sourdough" up front. 40 pieces 358 Norma brass and a set of RCBS reloading dies comes with the rifle (and there's plenty of brass and bullets available out there to purchase) C&R eligible, call or email for more details.
