Description:

German Model 88 Commission Carbine. This is a most unusual carbine in that it seems to be a presentation gun. It is beautifully engraved with scroll, leaf, and floral motifs. The stock has no unit marks or proofs. It is very lightly checkered more as decoration rather than for practicality as it is almost smooth. The carbine has a checkered commercial butt plate. Bore is excellent as is the action. This is a really neat carbine. Never had a desire to shoot one of these but this one might make me change my mind.
