Payment Types Accepted: Check, MO, Wire Transfer Description: This is a massive and large 11 bore single shot flintlock pistol made by Prosser, CHARING-CROSS-LONDON between 1780-1820. Because of the size and bore on this beast, I will call it a Howdah pistol. The barrel is a 9” smooth bore and is 15 ¼” overall in length. The checkering pattern on the grip is very seldom seen with a large diamond pattern with a cross pattern within the diamond pattern. The top tang, hammer and lock are engraved and retain about 50% case colors. The butt cap, trigger guard and finial are nicely engraved and with the butt cap were finished in the white. The cock and frizzen are crisp and tight as well as the mechanical function. The barrel was lightly cleaned at some point. The wood is very nice condition, no damage. The ramrod is a captive rammer type. Can you imagine a ¾” ball weighing 636 grains of lead, that would be a real thumper!! I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE? Ask about our 30-90 day lay-away program. We accept Bank Check, Money order, Personal checks or wire transfer. SOLD Antique: Yes |
