Description:
This is the standard U.S. Army 44 caliber percussion side arm for the Civil War. This one is serial number 103779 and is matching on the barrel and frame. There are a bunch of inspector marks on the barrel, frame and cylinder. All of the markings are sharp and crisp. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is very good, bright and shinny with strong rifling. The nipples are very good and this Remington would be a fantastic shooter. The grip still has a nice military Cartouche. It retains about 30% faded blue and is a crisp and tight Civil War revolver. Buffalo Bill Cody carried a Remington New Model Army revolver and said “it never failed me”.
