CIVIL WAR COLT U.S. MODEL 1861 SPECIAL RIFLE MUSKET DATED 1862 W/BAYONET. .58 caliber 40” barrel with “V/P/EAGLEHEAD” proofs at the left breech. Lock plate stamped “U.S./COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CT.”. All original and complete and in very good condition. Metal with old patina and stock with the original patinated finish. Lock in working order and bore with worn rifling. Original ramrod. Original bayonet missing the locking collar. Desirable Colt early Civil War Rifle Musket.
