Description:
For sale, a WW1 Amberg 98AZ Carbine made in 1909. This rifle has certainly seen it's fair share of battle. It is unit marked on the top of the buttplate with "B.2.U. 3.60." It is a bolt mismatch, and the stacking hook and magazine follower does not match either. All other parts appear to be matching numbered with some of them being overstamped by a German armorer likely during WW1 or prior to WW1. It certainly has not been altered since that time. The stock has lots of character and battle damage which matches the overall patina of the metal parts. The bore is dark but still has nice strong looking rifling. Everything works 100% like it is supossed to. This is a chance to get a nice battle used, honest example of a scarce and seldom available carbine. If this 98AZ could talk it would certainly have some interesting stories to tell.
