Description:
A very nice example of Sam Colt's first Pocket Model, this 6 inch Baby Dragoon, in the 10XXX serial range, was made circa 1849, and is a Type II with the Texas Ranger & Indian cylinder scene. This gun retains much of its original finish, particularly on the trigger guard, back strap and wood one-piece grips. The barrel and cylinder have a light bluish cast remaining and the cylinder scene is remarably good and at least 90% visible. In addition, the one cylinder pin or safety pin, is still intact, which is very unusual for a gun this early. With only slightly more than 14000 rammerles versions of this model manufactured, one in this condition with a 6 inch barrel, a nice bore, and all matching parts is a rare find.
