Description:
Model 1842 U.S. 69cal. percussion musket in very good condition. Solid and sound stock with dings and bruises. shows no signs of sanding but has some sheen that looks as if someone put some finnish on it. Lock plate has sharp markings with 1847 date. All metal has been heavily cleaned. Breech is marked V/P with eagle head but tang date is gone due to pitting. Original ramrod in place. Smooth bore is very good. Over all still a great looking early Civil War musket and priced well below most 1842s. in this condition.
