FINE Antique FOREHAND & WADSWORTH 38 S&W Revolver
“BRITISH BULL-DOG” DA Conceal Carry Six Shooter
Here we present an antique Forehand & Wadsworth “BRITISH BULL-DOG” .38 S&W Double Action Revolver, made circa 1890 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The revolver was a small, well-built, self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century. It was made by the sons-in-law of Ethan Allen, the successful firearms inventor and manufacturer from the 1830s.
This revolver features a double/single action trigger and six shots of .38 S&W. The double action trigger is smooth and the single action trigger is crisp. The top strap is marked “BRITISH/BULL-DOG” and the frame has the dog’s head trade mark. The entirety is very nicely nickel plated.
The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is 97%. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The hard rubber grips are fine. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is excellent. Here is a very nice late-19th Century conceal & carry snubby revolver!
