Description:

MARKED Antique S&W .38 Single Action Revolver

.38 S&W Top Break Revolver

Here we present an antique Nickel Plated Smith & Wesson .38 Single Action Revolver, made circa 1890 in Springfield, Massachusetts. It competed very well against other revolvers like Colt’s New Line and House Pistols or Remington’s Smoot line. It was designed to be an easily concealed, potent self-defense firearm in the turbulent 19th Century.

This specimen is marked “MC H M CO P”, which was very likely an express company, stagecoach line, mining operation or short line railroad. Especially guns from express companies bear resemblance to how this revolver is marked.

The overall condition is near fine. The nickel finish is about 65%. Case colors still visible on the right side of the hammer. The markings are clear and legible. The original hard rubber grips are a bit worn, and the right grip is chipped on the bottom. The bore is in very good shape. The action is strong.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3-1/4 inches.

Caliber: .38 S&W

Overall condition as seen in photos.
