Indexes fine, and the action is very tight with all clicks on the hammer. The exterior has a smooth even dark grayish-brown patina on good metal, but the markings are very weak with just faint traces of the two-line barrel address visable, and there are deep pits on the ejector housing (see photos). All matching numbers. The etched COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER barrel logo is totally gone from holster wear having worn off any vestage of it. Worn original wood grips have been non-factory checkered by some bored cowboy and are undersized on all edges and there is a small shallow cut on the top of the barrel. Overall this is just an average little “short-barreled bad forty-four” (to quote Marty Robbins in his song “Mr Shorty”) and while it’s not a great high-end collectors item, it is a very inexpensive 1880s Single Action in a very popular configuration.
