Description:
This 1868 vintage, Colt 1860 Army, Civilian Model, serial number #170336, with all numbered matching parts. It is in excellent original condition. It retains much of its original color case-hardened finish on the frame, loading lever, and hammer and the 8 inch barrel retains 95% of its original bright blue finish. The trigger guard retains approx. 20% of original silver plating concentrated in the protected areas, with an aged patina on the brass, and the back-strap retains 50% of its original blue finish, and since this is a Civilian Model it is not cut for a shoulder stock. The cylinder retains 50%+ of its original blue finish. All the nipples and safety pins are in excellent condition. The cylinder scene is Excellent and the engagement date is ledgible. and the action is tight and sound. All serial numbers match, including those on the wedge and arbor. The walnut grips retain all of their original finish, without visible handling marks. The 3-screw frame is clearly marked with the "COLTS PATENT" stamp on the left side and the top of the barrel is stamped "-ADDRESS COL, SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-". The bore is bright, with sharp rifling,! It would be hard to up grade this great example of the rare Civilian Model of the 1860 Colt Army revolver. Buyer pays $35.00 shipping to lower 48 states.
