Personal Check with hold Description: This is a Kerr Patent Revolver. It is .44 caliber,Double Action, 5 shot, percussion Revolver. It is marked, "LONDON ARMOURY", "KERR'S PATENT. 1829." According to the book, "CONFEDERATE HANDGUNS" by William A. Albaugh, III, Hugh Benet, Jr. and Edward N. Simmons, the actual serial number is stamped on the face of the cylinder and on the inside bow of the trigger-guard. This revolver is so marked with #1894. So, I assume this is the Serial number. Also, according to the above reference book The "J.S./anchor" mark was not applied on guns meant for domestic use. In other words, at the very least they believe it was an export stamp, and if all exported Civil War Kerr revolvers are Confederate, then those bearing this stamp are Confederate. The overall condition of this fine revolver is approx. 95% original fit and finish that does show some "freckling" . "LONDON ARMOURY" is stamped in an "oval"on left side of frame. The barrel is die-stamped "LAC". Barrel and Cylinder bear English Proof Marks. .Buyer pays $35.00 shipping to lower 48 states. International shipping varies as to location.
