Description:
This is a U.S. Martially Marked Colt Third Model Dragoon. Has iron backstrap that has notch for shoulder stock. .44 caliber. 6 shot cylinder. 7.5" part round part octagonal barrel with a very good bore. Has the folding leaf rear sight dovetailed into the barrel. Has the half moon shaped front sight. Barrel address reads:"ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY". Marked on left side of frame,"COLT'S/PATENT", with the "U.S.", centered underneath. The Cylinder has the "TEXAS RANGER and INDIAN FIGHT" scene Roll engraved . Has the "U.S.M.R" and "COLTS PATENT US", also on cylinder along with serial number 17386 T. All matching numbers. Has inspector's marks of, "M", "S" , "I"and "T". All the markings on the cylinder that remain are approx. 40%-60% The one piece walnut grips are solid showing minor edge losses. There are outlines of Cartouches on each side of the grip. Has Traces of case hardening remain on frame, hammer and lever. Most of the bluing has turned to grey/plum patina. The uncleaned brass trigger guard is a pleasing mustard patina.Action is strong and functions properly. Buyer pays $35.00 shipping to lower 48 states.
