Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Sporting Rifle .32/20wcf. The serial number of this rifle is 4998XX placing date of manufacture in 1908. This Special Order rifle was intended for export indicated by the Model number roll engraved on the upper rear tang. (madis pg.371). Special order with factory $5.00 engraving (madis pg.379), Half Round, Half Octagon Barrel, Shotgun Butt and .32/20 chamber. Overall condition is very good with the barrel retaining 80% of the original factory blue. The bore is above average for a small caliber Winchester. The rifling is strong with shine from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has toned to a grey/plum patina with a tight, smooth and mechanically perfect action. Wood to metal fit is very good with varnish added? Model 1892's engraved are very rare and collectible. Nice honest gun!
