I received this Garand from a family selling off the collection of a family member who'd passed. This early Springfield was apparently purchased from the D.C.M. (Director of Civilian Marksmanship) sometime in the early 1980's. There is no paperwork or shipping carton. Springfield M1 Garand serial number 3326XX placing date of manufacture in September 1941. Overall condition of this Garand is near excellent. The metal has retained 98% of the original phosphate finish toned to a very dark green. The Barrel has an upside down date of 9/41. The bore is perfect. T.E. less than 1. M. less than 1. The bore is bright and shiny from breech to muzzle void of any damage. I have no researched all the parts assembly numbers. I see a mix of very early to mid range draw numbers. All parts are as new! The stock is gorgeous with a large cross cannon Cartouche and "SPG/SHM". Very early Springfield in pristine condition.
