Winchester 1873 38 WCF - Highly Engraved Lever Action Rifle. This rifle was made in 1889 and was sent to a master engraver and gunsmith named James Gilbert in Missouri in approximately 1950 to be engraved. A boy did he engrave it! It has 8 different animals and endless relief scrolling. All of the engraving in very well done and has been preserved well. I bought this gun from local collector that said he had owned it for 55 years. The super high grade wood is beautiful and in excellent condition. When you bring this rifle out of the safe all you can say is WOW! It is a stunning masterpiece from a true master engraver. The rifle is more elaborately engraved than any factory engraved rifle Ive ever seen and at a fraction of the cost. Call with questions.
