Description:
Winchester Model 21 Engraved 2BBL Set 12 Gauge. A truly beautiful piece of American firearm workmanship with engraving and gold inlays by master engraver, John Warren, as well as the gorgeous figure in the high grade walnut stocks. The receiver, upper and lower tangs, release lever, trigger-guard, forend iron and furniture are extensively engraved with scroll, floral and game scene engravings with gold inlays of turkeys, woodcock and an owl (see John Warren’s signature next to the trigger in the fourth photograph). There is scroll and boarder engraving on both barrel sets (boarder engraving at the muzzle). The two barrel sets include 30” barrels with a matted and tapered, solid rib with a front steel bead sight, and Winchester marked chokes of Mod & Full (but measured constrictions of .011-I.C. & .034-Full). The second barrel set is 26 inches with a matted and tapered, solid rib with an intermediate and front white bead sights, and Winchester marked chokes of WS-1 & WS-2 (but measured constrictions of .016-M & .002-SKT). WS-1 and WS-2 are for Winchester Skeet 1 and 2. The barrels and action also features 2 3/4” chambers, ejectors, single selective trigger and forend release levers. For barrel, barrel flats, forend iron and watertable marks, refer to the three last photographs (photos 13,14 &15). The high grade walnut stocks have a high gloss lacquer finish, checkering, ebony grip cap, Winchester checkered plastic butt-plate and two beavertail forends with engraved iron and furniture.CONDITION: Both barrel sets lock up tight to the receiver, though the release lever is just to the left of center with either barrel sets. There is no barrel to receiver play or loose fitting. The metal work, engraving, inlays and bluing are in great shape. The metal blue is full coverage throughout, save for last half of the trigger-guard tang where the blue is fading. And, the blued receiver finish is just beginning to show a blue-plum coloring, where the barrels, upper-tang, release lever, trigger, trigger-guard and forend iron are still a deep rich blue finish. The wood stocks and lacquer finish presents quite well but there are the occasional small nick and scratch. There are two chips in the butt-stock as the wood meets the bottom of the receiver.WEIGHT, LOP+, DOM & S#: Shotgun weighs: 8 Lbs. even with 30” barrels, or 7 3/4 Lbs. with the 26” barrels. Both barrel sets/stock measurements are the same with-LOP: 14 1/2”; DAC: 1 1/8”; DAH: 1 3/4” & Cast Off: 3/16”. Date of Manufactured: 1937 ~ Serial #: 7626.Please Note: There are a total of 15 photographs that accompany this ad, which all can be seen on Cabela's Gun Library .
