WEST GERMAN Hy Hunter STEVENS TIP-UP Target Pistol
Very Nice .22 LR Rimfire Single Shot Pistol
Here we present an Hy Hunter of Hollywood Tip-Up .22 LR Single Shot Target Pistol, made circa 1960 in West Germany. This was a direct 20th Century copy of the Stevens Tip-Up series of pistols, which originated circa 1864, during the American Civil War. This pistol features an 8-inch bull barrel with a hooded front sight. These are a delight to shoot with their affordable ammunition, nice balance, and crisp trigger.
The left side of the barrel is marked “HY HUNTER INC. FIREARMS MFG. CO./HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. MADE IN WEST GERMANY”.
The overall condition is fine. The original chrome finish is virtually complete. The blue finish on the barrel is about 40%. The wooden grips are very good, mostly smooth with a nice gloss. The bore is strong. The trigger is crisp and the action is excellent. Here is a fantastic West German target pistol at a fantastic price!
This is classified as a modern firearm.
