ANTIQUE Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action Revolver
Late 19th Century Top Break in .38 S&W
Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action Third Model Revolver, made circa 1890 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This 5-shot .38 S&W, top-break revolver was designed for self-defense and was very successful for the company. This one has been modified with a much larger grip that really lends itself well to shooting this gun. The trigger also seems to have been modified to make it double action only, which many still prefer today for defensive purposes.
The overall condition is very good. The original blue finish is about 20%. The balance is a dark plum color. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is sharp and shiny. The action is excellent. Here is a very nice, very shootable antique S&W!
