Description:

Antique Forehand & Wadsworth “BULL DOG” Revolver

FINE 1870s .38 Rimfire Single Action Revolver

Here we present an antique Forehand & Wadsworth “BULL DOG” .38 Rimfire Single Action Spur Trigger Revolver, made circa 1871 in Worcester, Massachusetts. This 5-shot revolver was designed for concealable self-defense for 19th Century citizens. It was made by the sons-in-law of Ethan Allen, the successful firearms inventor and manufacturer from the 1830s, who succeeded him in the business. The top of the frame is marked “BULL DOG”, while the side of the octagonal barrel is marked “FOREHAND & WADSWORTH WORCESTER, MASS U.S.” with patent dates of (18)61 and ’71.

The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is virtually complete. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are smooth and in fine condition. The bore is in good shape. The action is glassy smooth and in excellent condition. Here is a stout little revolver from the glory days of the late-19th Century!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3 inches.

Caliber: .38 Rimfire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
