Description: Winchester Model 21 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun #6 ENGRAVED, B CARVED WOOD, CASED General Specs: Winchester, Year 1947, 16 Gauge, 7lbs 3oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: 18386 When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon and its reputation is well deserved. A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN. Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm. This gorgeous 16ga., sn18386 made in 1947, is a stunning example of the highest level of the Model 21 platform. Engraved by the Custom Shop employee Pauline Muerrle in #6 style, custom stocked with exhibition black walnut and checkered in B Carved style to perfection by Custom Shop employee John Durkin, this could be a very expensive M21. I say "COULD" as this is not a factory engraved gun, but rather a gun finished by Winchester Custom Shop employees outside of the work place. We do have a factory letter documenting the gun as a Standard Grade 16ga. with 28" barrels and documentation of the work done to upgrade the gun to its current status by the above mentioned Winchester employees. Cased in an oak and leather case with all accessories and maker's label, this is a gun to be proud of. Additional features include jeweled water table, standing breech, barrel flats, and forend metal; mirror bores, 28" LM/IM barrels with 3" wedge of engraving; gorgeous oil finished wood with 14 5/16" LOP to a leather covered pad; diminutive Hessian style forend; perfect mechanics, 99% condition overall. What a great chance to own such a gorgeous gun engraved and stocked by Winchester Custom Shop employees, and at 1/2 the price you would expect to pay. A great gun for field or clays, and one you will never tire of looking at! Thanks for looking.
