Description:
Parker VH 28 Gauge Side-by-Side
“OO” FRAME- FIGURED FACTORY WOOD, CORRECTED FACTORY LETTER, 26”

General Specs: Parker, Year 1935, 28 Gauge, 5lbs 11oz, SxS
Serial Number: 237300

THE LETTER WE HAD POSTED WAS IN ERROR AND SHOWED THE BARRELS AS 28”.  PARKER GUN COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION HAS PROVIDED US A NEW LETTER STATING THE GUN SHIPPED WITH 26” BARRELS.  This is a Remington era Parker, vintage 1935, VH 28ga. on the coveted “OO” frame with factory 26” barrels, in as new restored condition by Doug Turnbull over 20 years ago.  As is often the case with Remington era Parkers, the wood on this gun is more fitting of a D grade Parker, with full figure and fiddleback displayed in the buttstock.  This gun is listed in the Parker Serialization book and is configured exactly as shipped from the factory.  The barrels retain 100% of their new rust blue, bores are excellent and there are no dents or flaws.  Choked .006/.006 (IC/IC in 28ga.) this gun is set for upland birds or skeet.  Factory 2 ¾” chambers, barrels ring true with tight ribs, lettering all perfect.  The receiver has 100% bone and charcoal Turnbull colors, excellent screws, sharp engraving, extractors, and a most desirable “00” frame makes this gun light to carry and point like a dream.  THERE ARE MANY 28GA. PARKERS ON THE 20GA. “0” FRAME AND ARE NOT NEAR AS DESIRABLE AS THE “00” FRAMED GUNS.  Make sure to take this into consideration as you compare features.  Trigger guard is 100% and it’s a double trigger gun.  Barrels are tight on face and hinge pin, and lever is way right of center like a factory new gun.  The wood is awesome, with great modern dimensions.  This gun weighs in at 5lbs. 11oz.  Turnbull restorations are the most desirable Parker restorations and are highly sought after.  The value is retained and the workmanship is impeccable.  With all the guns out there that have cut barrels, replaced wood, and amateur refinish jobs, it is hard to find a nice gun like this that has been brought to new with strict attention to historical correctness.  It is hard to find any 28ga. Parker on the “OO” frame in today’s market place, as they only made about 1000 VH 28ga. guns on that frame size.  What a great gun for this fall’s grouse, woodcock, and quail haunts!  Thanks for looking!
