Description:
Winchester Model 42 .410 Gauge Shotgun
CUSTOM UPGRADE, ANGELO BEE, RAISED GOLD INLAYS, 3X WOOD

General Specs: Winchester, Year 1954, .410 Gauge, 6lbs 7oz, Pump Shotgun
Serial Number: 133879

The Model 42 is an icon in the ranks of Winchester firearms, made in the days of the highest quality control and hand fitted parts.  The Model 42 was a flawlessly produced little pump gun, chambered only for the diminutive .410 shotgun shell.  In the 30 years of production that ran from 1933 to 1963, almost 160,000 of these fine guns were produced.  A very large percentage were Field Grade guns, and there were also Skeet Grades, Trap Grades, and the Deluxe Grade.  There were just over 5000 Skeet Grades ever produced, or about 3% of total production.  The Winchester Model 42 has been held dear in the eyes of the .410 aficionado, and there has been a strong following for the upgraded guns that have been highly decorated with fine bank-note scroll, gold inlays, fancy wood, etc.  Angelo Bee is a sought after engraving artist that has been responsible for many of these fine upgrades, and as he winds down his life’s work spanning decades, the attention to his accomplishments is multiplying rapidly.  This beautiful Model 42, sn133879 built in the mid-1950’s, is a grand example of an Angelo Bee custom Winchester M42.  Done in concert with Christophe Rouffose (scroll work), the bank note scroll is deeply carved with shaded backgrounds, beautifully done.  The 4 raised gold doves on the right side of the receiver and 4 raised gold quail on the left side of the receiver is representative of what this gun would excel at in the field; hunting small-framed, thin-skinned game birds.  The wood is fully figured exhibition grade black walnut with perfect 22lpi checkering and perfect hand rubbed oil finish.  This gun is 100% without a mark or ding anywhere in the wood, and only slight wear on the slide action bluing.  What a gorgeous gun to have in your collection and utilize in the field.  These guns are sure to go up in value as Angelo Bee begins to slow down and retire in the next few years.  A great investment vehicle and source of pride and shooting pleasures, a Winchester Model 42 custom built by Angelo Bee is a gun you should have in your collection!  Thanks for looking.
