Description:
Parker VH 16 Gauge Side-by-Side
“O” FRAME, 100% NEW, 5LBS. 15OZ., GORGEOUS TURNBULL RESTORED GUN

General Specs: Parker, Year 1910, 16 Gauge "O" Frame, 5lbs 15oz, SxS
Serial Number: 154685

First, let’s face it…anybody that has handled many 16ga. Parkers of any grade recognize the amazing difference between one built on the “O” frame, or 20ga. frame, compared to the same gun built on the standard #1 frame.  Most #1 framed 16ga. guns weigh over 6 1/2lbs. while this gorgeous gun weighs just 5lb. 15oz.  That is more than ½ pound difference!  The handling characteristics are notable, and at the end of a long day afield, YOU WILL KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.   This particular gun, sn154685 built in 1910, looks like a perfect, factory original Parker.  We all see our share of restored Parkers.  Heck, we here at VFI have contributed many historically correct restorations to the list.  But few will compare to this one done by Doug Turnbull more than a decade ago.  The case colors are perfect Parker colors, the screws, wood to metal fit, checkering, lettering, engraving…all perfect.  The mechanics are perfect as well and the gun appears unfired since the day of restoration, as there is not a mark on the gun or a primer shadow on the standing breech.  Everything is 100% new.  Today the cost of a full Turnbull restoration starts at $3500 and there is a year wait to get your gun back.  If you review this gun you will realize the outstanding value and the benefit of nothing left to do and no wait time until you can go out and use the gun breaking clays or downing birds on the wing.  What an upland gun for the tight brush and hunting over pointing dogs with the SK/IC chokes.  If you want to know what a new Parker looked like 100 years ago, this is your example.  This gun will always be special as the “O” frame guns are few and far between.  Thanks for looking.
