Description:
Charles Boswell .410 Bore Side by Side
SIDELOCK, EJECTOR, AS NEW, CASED, PRICED RIGHT!

General Specs: Charles Boswell, Year 1980's, .410 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, SxS
Serial Number: 410113

Here we have a very well-known British maker in Charles Boswell, and a handy little .410 bore built on a fine sidelock ejector action with a London address inlaid in gold on the rib.  Charles Boswell began as a gunmaker in the 1870’s and the family kept the business alive until WWII.  The Boswell name has been exchanged a few times in modern days and is now again a Best Gun maker in England.  This little .410 bore, sn410113 was made in modern days, likely the 1980’s or 1990’s with modern steels and methods and represent a true British Sidelock ejector gun in the desirable and hard to find .410 bore.  The gun is in near new condition, with fine hand cut scroll engraving, fine 28LPI hand cut checkering with mullered border and drop points, checkered but, modern “MAN” sized stock dimensions, stocked to the fences, sculpted frame, gas vented firing pins, intercepting sears, vacant silver stock shield…all of what you would expect in a fine English SLE.  It even comes in a decent leather case with trade label and accessories.  The gun is made to shoot as well, with a weight of 6lbs. 6oz. and balanced just ahead of the hinge pin so it is not whippy like some .410 bore guns, even with the 26” SK/IC choked barrels with 3” chambers.  The balance point of the gun is what effects the dynamic handling characteristics, not the length of the barrels as some mistakenly think.  Balanced 3/16” ahead of the hinge pin is ideal for crossing shots.  The bores are mirror perfect, blue is 100% factory new, case color remains 99%, perfect screws, auto safety, ivory front bead, perfect mechanics with strong well timed ejectors…what’s not to like?  There are few British SLE guns available in .410 bore so don’t hesitate or this one will belong to someone else!  Thanks for looking.
