Description:
1807 Afghan Jezail flintlock musket camel rifle. British brown bess lock is marked BRANDER w/ British east indies co. stamp with 1807 underneath. Considering its age, it is in great condition. Barrel appears to be much older than rifle it self and is beautifully done. Absolutely beautifully done. Please see pictures. Highly detailed from one end to the other with gold trim. The bore is ok, the rifling is visible through out but it does have rust. All functions work as they should. Butt plate is horn and is a bit loose. Strap appears to be original with a bit of egyptian cloth still on it. Barrel measures 48 1/2 and 50 1/8 to end of tang. Wood is solid with no cracks or bad gouges and still looks very nice. Trigger guard does have some damage, please see photos. The barrel on this really makes it some thing special. Rifle measures 5'3" over all.
