FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION 1894 .44-40 ROUND BARREL RIFLE, #111XXX, MADE 1894, a very fine untouched example that has not been cleaned or helped, naturally aged dark receiver with fine screws, barrel and magazine blue has aged to a mottled mixture of uncleaned brown/plum with a little gray that is quite attractive and all blends well, original Rocky Mountain blade front sight with original buckhorn rear sight, fine+ wood shows normal handling with no abuse and exhibits tight wood to metal fit, very tight action and fine+ bore with good rifling and only a few minor spots of scattered light pitting, in all a fine first year production rifle in the most desirable and hard to find caliber.
