Description:
For sale:  A high grade William Cashmore boxlock ejector with 28" fine chain Damascus barrels, Nitro proofed for 2 1/2" shells.  Straight hand English style stock.  Full cover scroll Anson & Deely pattern ejector boxlock with beaded fences, hidden third fastener and intercepting sear. 14 1/2" length of pull; 2 1/4" drop at heel; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; very slight right hand cast - maybe 1/8 inch; 6 3/4 pounds.  Function is excellent.  Condition is excellent as partially refinished (reblacked floorplate and top lever as the English seem to always do).  Great wood!  I believe this to be an 1890s shotgun, although I have not encountered a serial number date of manufacture for William Cashmore.  Barrels and bore are good with no dents or pits.  The choke constrictions are 0.030" and 0.006".  A classic English light game gun by a respected maker.

William Cashmore guns were well regarded among live pigeon and trap shooters.  Annie Oakley had five Cashmore guns built for hereself.   Cashmore, of Birmingham, marketed extensively in the US and Australia and was well known for trap and live bird guns.
