Holland & Holland 10 Bore Paradox Steel Bbl w/ Oak & Leather Case & Accessories. SN#:15xxx. Cal/GA: 10 Bore. 27" Paradox rifled steel barrels weighing 8lbs8oz. Top plain 1/4 rib with one standing sight. Small silver bead front sight with flip-up large white colored night sight. Barrel tops marked R: "HOLLAND & HOLLAND 98 NEW BOND STREET LONDON", L: ""PARADOX" FOSBERY PATENT". Barrel tubes marked w/ SN on bottom. London BP proof marks with "R CHOKE" confirming rifled chokes.Sling swivel loop soldered to bottom rib. 2 7/8" chamber lengths. Extractors. Fully case-colored and massive Jones underlever back-actioned sidelock action w/ rebounding flat hammers. Sidelocks marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND". Frame marked: L: "CHARGE 8 DRAMS, CASE 2 7/8", R: Double triggers. Underlever finely checkered at bulb. Border scroll engraving on all action parts. Extended top and bottom strengthening tangs. Nicely grained Holland style horn pistol grip capped stock, shadowline cheekpiece and Silvers solid red pad. 14 1/2" LOP. Uninscribed gold initial oval and sling swivel on stock bottom. Massive oak & leather seventeen(17) compartment case w/ green baize lining and original maker's label. Plethora of reloading, cleaning and maintenence tools. Brass & ebony "J.L. Rawbone" marked case turn-over tool; Brass wad sealer w/ ebony seating rod and base; Dixon marked ebony handled capper & decapper; Dixon marked brass and steel case trimmer; Extremely rare steel bullet sizer (Regulator) marked Holland & Holland; Holland marked square oil bottle; a massive jute wound handled "Hawksley" marked Paradox mold w/ ebony handled screw in hollow-pointer pin marked "Paradox" and other various items. The accessories alone are a marvel to behold.
Condition: Gun is in pristine overall condition as professionally London quality restored. Barrel blue remains with only scant marks. Bores are bright and clear. Strong rifling at muzzle end. Case color is absolutely vibrant with no indication of fading. Stock retains all of its oil finish and shows like new. All accessories in working order. Gun works without flaw and is tight and on-face. Case is very good overall with age appropriate signs of usage but stable and strong and appealing to the eye.
