Exquisite OTTOMAN Antique RatTail FLINTLOCK Pistol
Gorgeously Decorated with Engraving & Solid Brass Stock
Here we present an antique Ottoman Rattail Flintlock Pistol, made circa the 18th Century. This pistol is quite lengthy at 21-1/2 inches, and hefty due to its all metal construction. The stock is solid brass, masterfully engraved with repeating geometric patterns and lines. The lock is also engraved. The grip of this pistol slopes very gradually, ending in a fierce-looking pommel. This would have been a fantastic weapon, when, having fired the single shot, the user could turn the pistol around and use the heavy metal pistol as a bludgeon.
The overall condition is fine. The iron has a dark, plum patina. The engraving is very clear. The bore is smooth and untouched. The action is excellent. Here is a gorgeous example of Ottoman craftsmanship!
