EUROPEAN Antique FOLDING TRIGGER Percussion Pistol
Very Small .41 Deringer Type Pocket Pistol
Here we present an antique Folding Trigger Percussion Pistol, made circa 1850 in Europe. This spartan little pistol was designed to be a pocket-sized self-defense pistol. The trigger folds up for streamlined stowage, and drops down when the hammer is cocked. The barrel is octagonal. The numbers “56” are the only markings on the gun.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The numbers match. The wooden grip is smooth and solid. The bore is smooth and clean with what appears to be an old gouge at the 1 o’clock position, possibly from firing in the 19th Century. The action is excellent.
