Description:
Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 .30-06 Springfield. 24" barrel with caliber markings stamped, ".30 GOV'T. 06". The original factory receiver matte blue and the semi-gloss barrel blue are in very good to excellent condition with just a few small scratches on the barrel and some light blue wear at the muzzle. The blueing on the trigger-guard and floor-plate assemblies are good to very good with fading along the edges, and there is the usual amount of blue fading of the bolt knob. The wood stock is sound with no cracks or major issues, however, there are quite a few scratches, small nicks and dings throughout. And there is a hard to miss gouge in the stock, located in the area of the action, near the bolt release lever. Also, the V notched sight plate is missing from the rear sight. The bore condition is in very good condition with strong lands and grooves. This rifle will make an excellent hunter/shooter for those who appreciate classic/vintage America hunting rifles, and one that wont break the bank, like many collector pieces!
