Description:
The Smith & Wesson Model 41 pistol in .22LR caliber is considered by many as the finest American-made semi-auto .22 pistol ever made.  Developed after World War 2 and introduced in 1957, the Model 41 has been winning competitions both friendly and professional ever since.  It was designed with a 105 degree grip angle, the same as the 1911 to keep a familiar grip angle to former servicemen.  S&W used the finest materials they could find and made sure the fit and finish on these pistols was second to none.  It was designed as a competition target pistol but became popular with professionals and hobbyists alike.  This particular Model 41 is serial number A484700 and was made in 1978.  It features a 5" inch barrel and has the sought-after external cocking indicator.  The original factory gloss blue finish rates a solid 95% with no real spots of finish wear but it has some small handling marks scattered about and some small scratches.  While this Model 41 is used, it was well taken care of and probably shot very little.  The bore is minty and bright. There are no signs of pitting or erosion, and the lands and grooves are still sharp in the rifling.  The factory original checkered Walnut target-style grips are also in excellent condition.  They are free from cracks or repairs and the checkering is still sharp and not worn down or rounded-off.  Everything on this pistol works 100% like the day it left the factory.  The action is smooth and tight, and the trigger is outstanding.  The internals in this pistol are extremely clean and there is still original blue finish in spots that wear bright when the gun is fired over time, leading us to believe this gun has spent most of it's life in storage.  This Smith & Wesson Model 41 comes with one original factory 10-round magazine.  If you have been looking for a really nice Smith & Wesson Model 41 for your collection this example would be a great choice.  It has just enough wear on it that you could shoot it without feeling guilty, but still has enough condition to be considered a good investment.
