Mauser 98 Bolt Action Sporter 8MM Gibbs Rifle
From our retired oil and insurance man please find this German Custom 98 Mauser bolt action rifle in 8mm Gibbs. The rifle bears serial # 4455. The rifle is handsomely engraved in a floral patern on its receiver, butter knife bolt handle, trigger guard. The steel floor plate is adorned with a bear. Double set triggers with a very light release. The barrel is 24 inches long with a foresight comprising a silver bead atop a ramp. The rear sight is the two-blade express variety. These sights are complimented by an excellent and clear Helia 4x K. Kahles scope with popular German post type reticle mounted in a quick detachable see through mount. The stock is blondish in color with a very distinctive cheek piece that some might call a hog back. This Schnabel style stock is fitted with a black Pachmeyer decelerator recoil pad. ¾ inch sling loops mounted at butt and on the barrel. There are some light handling marks evident but no crack splits or missing chips. This rifle also features a tang mounted safety. This rifle was crafted by extraordinary rifle smiths and the wood to metal fit is fantastic.
