The barrel date is 4-43. The carbine's serial number is 1683742. This carbine is all Rock Ola. All the parts are the correct marked Rock Ola coded parts. There has not been a type three barrel band ever installed on this gun. All the parts appear to have been with this gun since this carbine has been put together at the factory. This carbine does show service use and wear. The " I " stock and hand guard have the correct stamp for this gun's time frame. The stock and hand guard have no cracks or chips. The original finish is intact. The oiler is also Rock Ola coded. The magazine is properly coded for Rock Ola. The rear sight is original to this gun. The flat bolt shows blue fading and wear. The blue is strong in protected areas of this bolt. The hammer is the correct dog leg style. The bore is bright and sharp. This veteran's take home carbine has seen little use since the end of World War 2. Rock Ola carbine's is number 9 of 11 producers of carbines. 11 being the lowest producer of carbines and number 1 being the highest producer of carbines. They only produced 228,500 carbines or 3.7% of the total production of carbines. The survival rate for original unaltered or un rebuilt carbines is pretty poor. This makes this Rock Ola pretty rare today due to being a early production gun and low factory production "run". Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details. This is a great as issued carbine! This carbine is a consignment and the owner wishes to sell it quickly. This is a great price for a very rare carbine! Don't delay!
