Payment Types Accepted: Money Orders, Cashiers Checks, Personal Checks Description: U.S. 1808 Contract Flintlock Musket by Elijah & Asa Waters Along With Nathaniel Whitmore of Sutton, Massachusetts Dated 1810. .69 Caliber with 44 ¼” barrel stamped, “US”, “EAGLE HEAD” over “CT” cartouche & “V” at breech. Lock with integral pan is dated “1810” on tail with faint “Eagle Head” motif over “US” & “SUTTON” in center of lockplate with visible “CW” inspectors cartouche on left side behind sideplate with “CP” behind trigger guard. Right side of stock has carved “JA” initials rear of grip. Iron furniture with trigger guard nicely filed with rounded tips, rear sling swivel & ramrod present. Good Condition overall with metal showing a plum brown patina throughout with light rust on hammer. The stock is good showing typical scattered use marks with a repaired crack on left side opposite of lock & a small crack to the rear of the lock. In 1808 Elijah & Asa Waters along with Nathaniel Whitmore received a Federal Contract for 5,000 Model 1808 muskets which were to be completed in 5 years.
