It is a model of 1858 percussion revolver converted to fire metallic cartridges after the Civil War. This type revolver was very popular in the Old West. 6 shot .44 caliber. Metal overall is smooth with mixture of old blue and patina. Walnut grips with chip out of right hand grip panel. Mechanics are fine but hand spring a little weak. Remington address on barrel is weak due to refinish at time of conversion. Underside of barrel marked "70". Very nice rifled bore and clean cylinder chambers. These cartridge conversions are much scarcer than the percussion models. Nice old west era pistol. Sold as collector's item only. This is an antique firearm not warranted for actual shooting.
