Description:
A.O. Niedner Custom Springfield Stocked by the Highly Regarded Tom Shellhamer. This
is one of the neatest Sporter's to come my way. It was no doubt built for by someone
who was not commissioning his first rifle. He obviously knew what he wanted; which is evident from
the special features incorporated into this rifle. Such as, the cocking shroud and bolt lock by
E.R. Stahl. All work is first rate, as would be expected. The Stahl cocking piece has taken virtually
all movement out of the bolt peep; which has always been the bane of bolt peeps. Barrel appears to
a Niedner custom built barrel, with a perfect bore. Stock which does not carry the usual Shellhamer
chinstrap is signed by him under the buttplate. The only number on the rifle is 797 under the barrel;
placing it about midway in the production range of Niedner rifles. The guard bow safety actuates
from the left side, with the stock cast off to the right for a right hand shooter!. Just another feature
that adds to the mystique of this already unique rifle. A Truly Rifleman's Rifle!
