Description:

Antique FOREHAND & WADSWORTH DA No. 38 Revolver

Very Fine Nickel Pocket Revolver Circa 1873

Here we present an antique Forehand & Wadsworth “Double Action No. 38” Revolver, made circa 1873 in Worcester, Massachusetts. This 5-shot double action revolver is compact and designed for concealed carry in the late 19th Century. It was made by the sons-in-law of Ethan Allen, the successful firearms inventor and manufacturer from the 1830s, who succeeded him in the business. The top of the frame is marked “FOREHAND & WADSWORTH/DOUBLE ACTION NO.38/WORCESTER MASS.” The left side of the barrel is marked with the patent dates, the latest of which is (18)73.

The overall condition is very fine. The original nickel finish is virtually complete. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are smooth with original varnish nearly complete. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is excellent and strong. Here is a sharp looking revolver from the late 19th Century!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 2-1/2 inches.

Caliber: .38 Rimfire
