Description:

Remington Smoot No. 3 "Saw Handle" Spur Trigger Revolver

FINE 1880s Single Action Remington Revolver

Here we present an antique Remington-Smoot New Model No. 3 Revolver, made circa 1880 in Ilion, New York. The years of production were 1878 to 1888, with a total of about 25,000 made. Of those, about 6,000 have this distinctive style of “saw handle” versus the “bird’s head” style. This revolver was designed for defensive carry, and would have been equally at home in a holster, pocket or purse. With 5 rounds of .38, one could get themselves out of most scrapes. This revolver competed directly against revolvers like Colt’s New Line and Smith & Wesson’s Baby Russian.

The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is 98%. The markings are clear and legible. The original hard rubber grips are fine. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is excellent and strong. Here is a fantastic antique Remington that would suit your collection!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3-3/4 inches.

Caliber: .38 Rimfire
