SC marked Confederate imported Pattern 1856 Cavalry Carbine with crisp action and excellent stock with a very desireable Barnett lock plate. SC stamped in the top of the butt tang and Co A on the stock. Barnett was to the South what Springfield was to the North. Has the original swivel ram rod and sling bar. Bore is dirty. Lots of wear on fne wood from the sling bar ring from time in the saddle. The stock is much better than most we see and very well could have been a Yankee War Trophy. This is a beautiful example and has correct American Civil War marks. The barrel has the correct American Civil War barrel proofs. Has proper 21″ inch barrel. At least 10,000 of these carbines were purchased by the South out of England and ran through the blockade. Need to sell this beauty to cover a recent purchase.
