Description:
REDUCED - This antique Model 1886 left the factory in 1898, and we have an original factory postcard signed T E Hall, curator at Winchester which verify's same. Years ago there were no fadtory letters - only postcards signed by Mr. Hall right there in New Haven. Rifle has original full length round barrel and full length magazine tube. The only finish we see added is to the wood in some areas. The metal is all original and turning a nice patina mixed with silver highlights. Wood is solid with no cracks, chips, or gouges. Bore shows pitting but also strong lands & grooves and looks as if it would make a nice shooter. Sights are totally original - the front a silver center inlay express type sight and the rear the correct ladder style used on this model and the 1876. The .50 Express is perhaps one of the most difficult of the 1886 calibers to find these days.
